Man of My Dream

Man of My Dream

There's an absurd conversation in one afternoon, when we had our lunch me and my workmates. Here's the dialogue. Everything happened so quickly so I barely remember who said what. There were the 6 of us, all girls. They were talking about dating, if I'm not mistaken.

A: "Have you ever kissed someone?"

Me: "No."

T: "Really? How come?"

R: "She's never been in a relationship." (She answered it for me)

A: "Really? So you never kiss at all? Go find a guy and kiss him!"

R: "She wants to save it for her wedding day."

T: "What? No, you can't! You must have that experience first so you can show your husband that you're a good kisser!"

A: "Yeah! If you never kiss and your husband never kiss then how would you two have a great kissing experience?"

T: "Of course you have to practice."

Me: "I want to give him my first kiss. I think my first kiss will be the best for us."

T & A: "Of course NOT!"

A: "I think I have to find a guy in our office for you!"

O & C just laughed, added some comments, and followed the conversation.

Then they started matching me with some guys.

A: "How about IS (not real name)? He is handsome you know! Like Roger Danuarta. Have you ever met him?"

Me: "Just heard about him, but never met."

FYI, since months ago there's already an Executive Producer who really wanted to match me with him. Kept mentioning his name and offered me to see his photo. Haha. I just took it as joke.

T: "Well yes he rarely comes to office."

O: "Hey, but he will come to office on November 12. You must meet him."

A: "Yeah great! You will like him!"

Me: "What? No.. No.. "

A: "What is your criteria? We will help you!"

R: "She wants a Christian and he must be taller than her."

A: "Oh! How about ST (not real name)?" (mentioning our boss from a country out there)

T: "Yeah! That's a great idea! He is TALLER than you!:

O: "He is a Christian too!"

A: "He is successful and rich!"

T: "He can teach you to kiss because he ever got married."

R: "Yeah right right! As his secretary I support you two!"

Suddenly everyone got so excited and I just laughed.

A: "You know, if you are with him, he can take you to his country!"

T: "Yes you don't need to apply for scholarship anymore!"

And I think at that time I had fainted because I didn't remember the rest of conversation. Hehe.

I know they're joking and it's funny for me. However, that conversation leads me to write about this.

I think I want to write down my criteria, just for fun, and to explain some reasons why I don't do this and that. For me, choosing a spouse is not as simple as being TALL, HANDSOME, and RICH.

Okay, let's start, this is the man of my dream:

He loves me unconditionally.

Hehe. Of course ya it has to be the first point. These are the considerations:

1. He has the same faith as me, that Jesus Christ died for us to redeemed us, and had risen and that He is God. (read: Christian)

2. He surrenders his life to Christ, lets Holy Spirit lead him in everything he does, and refers to the Word of God (read: a radical Christian)

3. He loves Jesus more than he loves me. He takes his decision in Christ and involves Christ in all aspects of his life even every smallest details, including his decision to choose me.

These 3 points are really important for me and my godmother always reminds me about this. Yes, going to church every Sunday is not enough if he chooses girl carelessly. I will pray if a man is from God or not, but I want that man to pray about me too. I want him to ask God whether I am the right one for him or not. I want our relationship grows following God's perfect steps, not by our sight, emotion, and uncontrollable and temporary feeling.

I want to have a relationship with a man who will be my husband one day. So that I can tell him that he is the only one and I have kept my heart complete and unbroken for him. I fall in love with other men too. But I have this one analogy. When I fall in love, I give my heart to a man. When he accepts it, we are in a relationship. Or when a man asks my heart for him, when I give it, then we are in a relationship. When we break up, my heart that I have given to him, will be returned to me, broken. So I thank God that the men I ever wanted to give my heart to (when I still didn't understand and haven't known Jesus) didn't want to accept my heart hahaha. Now I have understood that my heart belongs to Christ, and that at the right time, He will let me give it to the right person.

By the way, some people ask me, "How do you know whether he is the right one for you or not if you and him never have a relationship?" Well, the answer is, "Be friend." We build friendship instead of romantic relationship. We can see his/her character through this friendship. Go out in community, to see his/her real character. Pray and ask God's direction. He will tell us. He will not let us be with the wrong one. It's just the matter of our relationship with Him, our patience, and our obedience.

Moreover, why I want to save the first kiss on our wedding day, because I think when we are in a relationship, physical activity is not important and just will lead us to sin. I don't have problem to hold hands and kissing my forehead will be so romantic. But that's all, because I want this relationship and marriage to be holy in front of God.

4. He loves my mom and my best friends, and my dog. Hehe.

I wish my future husband loves animal. I don't know why but by the way a man treat animal I can see their character. For example, if a man likes bunny who is basically a soft and gentle creature, I can feel that he is tender and gentle too. I don't know why I think like that, I know it's not always accurate haha.

5. He is mature, firm, smart, and can lead.

6. He is super patient and always honest to me just like how I will always be honest to him.

7. He can make me laugh and feel comfortable when I am with him.

8. He is a gentleman who knows how to treat his lady.

9. He is taller than me.

10. He likes traveling just like me, so that I can travel together with him.

11. He looks good in shirts and when rolling it up to elbow. I always like a man in shirts/suits.

12. He is romantic and likes to give me flowers every week/month.

Haha I need to stop now before adding more and making this list longer. I don't expect a perfect man since I'm not perfect too. I just write number 10, 11, 12 as my wish. Just a fun list on the type of man that can make me fall for him. First of the first, if we expect a gentleman then we need to be a lady. All the conclusion from this long post is just, God will give the best spouse for us.

Have a precious waiting moment!

Enjoy this song:

Faithfully
by. Eric & Leslie Ludy

Tonight I saw a shooting star
Made me wonder where you are
For years I have been dreaming of you
And I wonder if you're thinking of me too

In this world of cheap romance
And love that only fades after the dance
They say that I'm a fool to wait for something more
How can I really love someone I've never seen before

But I have longed for true love every day that I have lived
And I know real love is all about learning how to give
So I pray that God will bring you to me
And I pray you'll find me waiting faithfully

CHORUS

Faithfully, I am yours
From now until forever
Faithfully, I will write
Write you a love song with my life

'Cause this kind of love's worth waiting for
No matter how long it takes I am yours
Faithfully... faithfully...

Tonight I saw two lovers kiss
Reminded me of my own lonliness
They say that I'm a fool to keep on praying for you
How's can I give up pleasure for a dream that won't come true

But I will keep believing that God still has a plan
And though I cannot see you now, I know that He can
And someday I will give you all of me
Until I find you, I'll be waiting faithfully

(Back to chorus)
